MEET TERRI

35 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN FAMILY LAW​

During her legal career of 35 years, Terri has worked to help strengthen families and safeguard children. Terri has advocated for both parents and children in thousands of abuse and neglect cases in the Kenton County Family Court. She strives to give children safe permanent homes while protecting the rights of parents to raise their children. She has the wisdom and experience necessary to make the life-changing decisions that a family court judge makes every day.

 

STRONG ROOTS IN THE COMMUNITY

Terri is a lifelong resident of the Taylor Mill area in Kenton County. She attended Kenton County Public Schools, Villa Madonna Academy and Georgetown College. She graduated from Salmon P. Chase College of Law in 1985 at the age of twenty-three. Following her graduation, Terri founded a law firm with her brother, Phillip E. King Jr. They have maintained their practice in Latonia for the past thirty-five years. Terri has served in many leadership roles as a teacher, chairperson and president in civic organizations and in her local church consistently throughout the years.

 

PROVEN LEADER

In addition to other leadership roles, as Chairperson of the State Personnel Board Terri presided over appeals of state employees who had been penalized or discharged from employment. Later, she served as a Contract Hearing Officer in Frankfort conducting evidentiary hearings. For ten years, Terri acted as member and chairperson of the Kenton County Foster Care Review Board. She also rotated as Chairperson for the Guardian Ad Litem and Appointed Counsel Committee for twenty years where she coordinated training at the Children’s Advocacy Center and drafted rules to govern Kenton County Family Court.

 

DEVOTED WIFE AND MOTHER

Terri and her husband, Jeff Schoborg live in Covington where they have been married for 30 years and have raised three children. Alex, age 22, is a recent graduate of the University  of Louisville . Ben, age 24 recently completed his masters in mechanical engineering at the University of Louisville . Cassie, age 27, graduated from University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is a resident emergency medicine physician.
